The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in collaboration with the Universidad de los Andes , offers the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on “Water in Latin America: Abundance in the midst of global scarcity” in the IDBx platform as part of BIDAcademy . Due to its orientation, the course will allow those interested in water resource management, particularly non-specialists in the subject, to obtain a clear and comprehensive idea of ​​the main challenges faced by the countries of the region on this topic. What can you learn in this MOOC? What is the dynamics of the course? The MOOC begins when you decide and requires a dedication of three to four hours per week. During this time, through videos, you will have the opportunity to listen to the opinions of specialists from the Inter-American Development Bank and professors from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia with extensive experience in water resource management issues.

Additionally, the course offers supporting readings and presentations as well as interactive activities that contextualize the course topics and promote collaboration and application of the concepts presented by the instructors. Also, different case studies from the region are presented that will help you analyze water resource management in different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. There are two types of certificates that you can choose at the time of registration, one free and the other at a cost, and both can be used as proof of study for job applications or promotions. Thus, in just a couple of days or a weekend, participants can exchange knowledge , become familiar with or deepen their programming skills, understand the needs of other interest groups, and learn to solve a problem from different perspectives.
